Trouble Logging In

Firstly, I'd recommend you check the following:

  1. Make sure that we support your camera. You may not be able to login in if your camera is unsupported. Check out what cameras we support: here
  2. The username and password that we ask for are the credentials associated with the camera you are connecting to. These can usually be found somewhere on the camera.
  3. OWLR only supports administrator account access, so please make sure you are using the correct credentials for this account!
  4. OWLR can't give you your username and password back because we don't store them. You can read up on our security and privacy stance: here

I still can't login!

  1. Please reset your camera. Instructions on how to do this are found: here.
  2. Once you have reset your camera, the default username and password will be as follows, depending on your brand of camera:
Foscam:
  • Username - "admin"
  • Password - no password
D-Link:
  • Username - "admin"
  • Password - no password
Amcrest:
  • Username - "admin"
  • Password - "admin"
Axis:
  • For Axis, you will first need to go to the camera's web interface and change the password there. You can then login in using OWLR.

  • Username - "root"
  • Password - "your new password"

Specific issues for Foscam users:

Please could you also check whether or not your password is greater than 12 characters, as for Foscam cameras passwords need to be below 12 characters or they will not be accepted.
